Why Do I Like Running?

I find that running is truly my therapy. I've used anti-depressants and went through periods of running and not running and over recent years I have seen the difference that running has in my life.

I believe there is a correct way to run.
If you run with proper form you won’t get injured.

I just want to run pain free

They say when a woman adjusts her pony tail s*%t just got real. Well it's getting real over here in baconland. I've been working on strengthening my 'posterior chain' (said with a pretentious air); basically I'm working on my back side. I've...

One Thing Every Runner Should Do, at least Once.

One Thing Every Runner Should Do, at least Once.

Every runner should work a run as a volunteer. I have been running for a while, in the past 4 years I've been able to acutally work running events as a sponsor, as a volunteer and even as a course monitor. It brings a whole new insight into...

What is Quality vs. Quantity?

You are probably thinking I'm going to discuss the number of reps or weights. Maybe because I'm a running blog you think I'm going to discuss making sure each run has a purpose. Maybe I'm talking about determining the best groups of exercises that give you...

So what’s the point…

I hope I can continue to grow a community with like-minded, hard-working people who just want to run, and talk, and laugh and feel good and not be judged based on their finish time.

I have run a ton of half marathons – I lost count a long time ago. I’ve also run 4 full marathons. In each attempt I had a secret time goal. I just realized after that second one that running so fast that I don’t remember the race, let alone am able to breath or talk, or remember it, as well as the enormous disappointment in not reaching that ‘time goal’,  has shown me that it’s just not that important to me.

I prefer to share my running adventures with people I can get to know – I can run and talk at the same time, even laugh, because I can still catch my breath and if the humidity is too much, as it often is here in the South, then you stop running and basically swim the chosen distance.

So join me as I get back onto the cement and start logging the miles – it won’t be pretty, but I promise it will be fun and maybe a little informative along the way!
